Review Policy

UPDATED: June 1, 2015

If you want me to review something, please look at the NOTE below the Requests section.

I'll tell you right from the start: if your review pitch is messy, too long, not going along with my guidelines, I will most likely NOT accept your book for review.
Please look at the bottom of this page for the things you need to include in your review pitch.

Take a look at my Goodreads to-read list, Books to Pine For or Waiting on Wednesday posts. It'll give you a better idea of which books I'd LOVE to review!

Genres. Here are a list of Genre's I accept and don't.

Accepted
  • All YA (Contemp, Paranormal, Dystopian, WHATEVER. I will accept all genres!)
  • Some Middle Grade – aimed around ages 11-12 and up
  • YA Graphic Novels
NOT Accepted
  • Heavily Religious Books
  • Non-fiction
  • Adult Fiction
  • Manga, Comics and FanFics
  • Self-Published Books are NO LONGER accepted
  • New Adult

Series. I will NOT read a series out of order. If you want me to review your book, and it's in the middle of a series, I will need to read and review the books in order.

Formats Accepted. Here is a list of formats I will accept:
  • ARCs
  • Hardback/Paperback Finished Copies
  • eGalleys/eARCS – **Now only accepting from NetGalley and Edelweiss**
  • Review Copies
  • Audiobooks
  • Kindle eBooks
**I will NEVER sell an ARC.

Reviews. The opinions in my review are my own and I will give my honest thoughts on the book. While I may not like the book, I will never attack the author unless they have been offensive in some way, whether it be racist, sexist, and so on, without reason (so NOT character growth, reflecting views of the time, etc.).

TOTAL REVIEW COUNT (01/06/15): 350 Reviews

Where are they posted? I post my reviews on my blog and on Goodreads.

Ratings. I don’t put star ratings or number ratings etc. on my blog posts. I only put ratings on Goodreads, Amazon, Shelfari or any other external review posting site.

Timeline. Priority is given to books to be released. If your book is going published, I will try and post a review no more than one month before and after the publishing date. I'll try to do my best with the dates! However, if you have a deadline you would want me to review by, include it in the inquiry. Here's an idea of what I give priority to:
  • Physical books / Blog Tour (e)books
  • eGalleys with a deadline
  • Review Requests with a flexible curfew

Interviews/Guest Posts/Blog Tours. I am more than happy to host you for an Interview, Guest Post, or Blog Tour! If it's an author interview, usually, I do ask if I may receive the book to read or an excerpt of the book so I can ask questions and be familiar with the author's work.

Requests. You may send me requests/questions through the email below. Put e-mail title as BOOK REVIEW REQUEST, so that I know what you're inquiring about.

iliveforreading [at] hotmail [dot] com

Include in the Inquiry
  • Who YOU are and the title of your book, and the genre of your book.
  • Author Website/Blog and/or Publishing House Website.
  • Blurb of book, what it's about.
  • Publishing/Published Date.
  • Where you want me to post the review.
  • [OPTIONAL] Book Cover, Book Trailers, etc.
  • [OPTIONAL – if you don't mind] What you want included in the review – Links to Author's blog/website, Publishing website, Book Trailer, Banners, Links to Bookstores (Where to Buy) etc.
NOTE: Due to the volume of requests, I will not be able to reply to all emails. I’m very sorry about this, and while I truly appreciate that you want me to review your book, due to the size of TBR pile I will only be taking a few requests from now on from authors and publishers I’ve worked with before.

Disclosure. While I do receive books from authors and publishers, all opinions are my own. I do not accept/receive monetary compensation for my reviews.

Thanks!
